Write the plan. Make it happen there.

Keep specs, sketches and code together. Create a task right inside your note, and find it in Tasks when you’re ready to act.

Free while in beta. Works offline in your browser, on desktop and on your phone.

Sample blipJar workspace. Create a task in the note to see it appear in Tasks. Then check or uncheck it from either place.

Create a task in the note. It appears in Tasks too.

Component decisions

For v2, buttons need clear focus, disabled and loading states. Keep the component rules with the work they create.

Plan it right where you wrote it.

Turn a line of a note into a task, or embed a task inside the note it came from. Then break it down as far as the work goes.

Subtasks all the way down

Every subtask is a full task, with its own priority, status, dates, relations, notes and subtasks. Nest them as deep as the project needs, and group the top level into sections you can collapse.

  • Priorities & statusesHigh, medium and low, with custom statuses for your own workflow.
  • Quick add in plain wordsStart and due dates with times. Type Submit report Friday 3pm !!! and the due date, time and priority fill in.
  • RelationsMark what blocks, is blocked by, relates to or duplicates another task, subtasks included.
  • Recurring tasksDaily, weekly, monthly, yearly or a custom rule. Completing one creates the next.
  • RemindersA notification when a task is due, and a daily reminder for tasks without a set time. Native notifications on desktop.
  • Custom fieldsAdd the properties your projects need.
Sample task. Open “Focus and loading states” to explore its subtasks.

Watch the layout change, then pick a view.

Task views

The same tasks, four ways. Plan in a list, move work across a board, schedule the week, or map a project on a timeline.

How task views work

Sample tasks

Everything a spec needs, in one note.

Every block you’d reach for in a spec, in the same note as the plan it describes.

Callouts for clarity

Good to know
Use tokens instead of hard coded values. It keeps everything consistent and easier to update later.

Sample content

Write it once. Reuse it everywhere.

Keep shared text in one synced block, and start every recurring note from a template.

Watch both notes update, then edit the block.

Synced blocks

Write it once and place it in as many notes as you like. Edit any copy and every other copy updates with it.

How synced blocks work

Both notes update as you type.

Templates

Save any note as a template and start new ones with the structure already in place. Schedule a template to create its note daily, weekly or monthly. Select one to preview the note it creates.

Set the rule once. It keeps working.

Rules move finished tasks, boost the priority of what’s due, and color what needs attention.

Watch the task move to Shipped, then try the checkbox.

Task automation

When a task is created, completed or changed, blipJar checks your conditions and acts: set its fields, move it to a list, pin it, make it repeat or add to its notes.

Task rules

Color tasks by list, priority or status. Choose which tasks show expanded or compact: pinned, overdue, due today, high priority, recurring, blocked or with subtasks.

Note rules

Color notes by tag or folder, so meetings, projects and research stand out in the notes list and in the editor.

Before you move in.

The practical questions, answered plainly.

Can I take my data with me?
Yes. Export every note as Markdown and every task as JSON from Settings, whenever you like. If you delete your account, everything is erased after a 30-day grace period.
Where does my data live?
In your blipJar account, with a copy on each device you use. That copy is what keeps you working offline, and your edits sync back when you reconnect. The privacy policy has the details.
Is it for teams?
Today, blipJar is a personal workspace. You can share a note with a public read-only link. Full multiplayer notes, tasks and lists are planned, but shared editing isn’t available yet.
What does it cost?
Nothing while it’s in beta. You can export everything at any time.
Who makes it?
blipJar is made and owned by blipYard Apps. Found a bug or have an idea? Choose Send feedback from the menu in the app.
